PiSA combines the solutions of today with the technology of tomorrow.
The three worlds of mobile phone, personal digital assistant and play stations are melting into one, into SMED (small mobile end devices.) Inside the class of SMED there are going to be specific products offered to specific groups of users, which are using specific services. Today services for SMED and in mobile networks are largely provided through proprietary and non-standardized frameworks. This means not only great effort for the development of these frameworks, but also an insecure technology, which cannot always be up to date and is limited to certain applications.
Within the realms of a research project PiSA is developing a technology for the transfer of the web service technology to SMED, in order to realize mobile services of a new generation with new characteristics. The technology is based on standards that are equal for all products and applications. This technology integrates WSDL and Java. The mobile accessibility of the service management and CRM applications of PiSA sales profit a lot from this jump of technology. The exchange of data between the enterprise system and the mobile client is becoming more efficient than in other systems. The function-driven communication of the web services accelerates and simplifies the development of interfaces between systems enormously. The communication can be developed and provided independently of platforms, operating systems and programing languages. Besides, the adaptability is very flexible. Therefore, the persons involved can concentrate on the important things – the contents of the exchange of contents - and can ignore the less important side conditions.
